Flying from Thailand to Vietnam

Hi there!

I come from New Zealand (we are traveling to Cambodia --> Thailand --> Vietnam).

I want to get a prior approval visa letter.

I will be flying from Chiang Mai, Thailand into Hanoi, Vietnam on 06/01/2018.

Does it matter that I am first going to Thailand and Cambodia before Vietnam?
