The Vietnam e-visa ports of entry on our application form number 79: 15 international airports, 26 land border gates and 38 seaports, as of October 2026. The government list is slightly longer, at 83 gates. Below are the airports, the land borders by neighboring country, the seaports by region, and how to pick your port on the form.
Every port in this guide appears in the dropdown of our Vietnam e-visa application form, under the same name, so you can match it before you start. The guide is part of our Vietnam e-visa guide.

How many Vietnam e-visa ports of entry there are
As of October 2026, Vietnam's government list has 83 border gates where foreigners can enter and exit with an e-visa: 17 airports, 27 land border gates and 39 seaports. Resolution 389/NQ-CP of 2 December 2025 added 41 of them to the original list.
Our form lists 79 of those 83 gates. If the port you need is on the government list but not in our dropdown, email info@vietnamvisa.com before you order and we will tell you how to proceed. The e-visa has been open to every nationality since 15 August 2023 under Resolution 127/NQ-CP, so the port list is the main limit on where you can arrive.
Which airports accept the e-visa
All 15 airports below accept the e-visa, including the three busiest: Noi Bai in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. The table lists them from north to south, with the name as it appears on our form.
| Airport (name on our form) | City or province |
|---|---|
| Noi Bai International Airport | Hanoi |
| Van Don International Airport | Quang Ninh |
| Cat Bi International Airport | Hai Phong |
| Vinh International Airport | Nghe An |
| Dong Hoi Airport | Quang Binh |
| Phu Bai International Airport | Hue |
| Da Nang International Airport | Da Nang |
| Chu Lai Airport Border Gate | Quang Nam |
| Phu Cat Airport | Binh Dinh |
| Cam Ranh International Airport | Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang) |
| Lien Khuong Airport | Lam Dong (Da Lat) |
| Tan Son Nhat International Airport | Ho Chi Minh City |
| Long Thanh International Airport | Dong Nai |
| Can Tho International Airport | Can Tho |
| Phu Quoc International Airport | Phu Quoc |
Most travelers arrive by air, so the airport is usually the easy choice. Our guide explains what happens at the airport, from the pre-arrival declaration to the immigration counter.
Land border gates with Cambodia, Laos and China
Our form lists 26 land border gates on Vietnam's borders: 10 with Cambodia, 10 with Laos and 6 with China. Moc Bai, on the road between Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh, is the crossing most travelers use on the border between Vietnam and Cambodia.
| Neighboring country | Land border gates on our form |
|---|---|
| Cambodia (10) | Moc Bai, Xa Mat, Tan Nam, Binh Hiep, Dinh Ba, Thuong Phuoc, Vinh Xuong, Tinh Bien, Ha Tien, Le Thanh |
| Laos (10) | Tay Trang, Long Sap, Na Meo, Nam Can, Cau Treo, Cha Lo, Lao Bao, La Lay, Nam Giang, Bo Y |
| China (6) | Mong Cai, Huu Nghi, Dong Dang, Lao Cai, Thanh Thuy, Tra Linh |
On the Vietnam-Laos border, Lao Bao and Cau Treo carry most bus routes from Savannakhet and central Laos. Land gates keep fixed opening hours and some close at night, so check the hours with your bus company before you book. If you will cross out and come back in on the same trip, for example Saigon to Phnom Penh and back, you need single or multiple entry chosen to match, and that means multiple entry.
Seaports and cruise ports
Our form lists 38 seaports, from Quang Ninh in the north to Ca Mau in the south. The table groups them by region. Cruise ports in Vietnam often go by a different name from the seaport on the form, so check the port name with your cruise line before you apply.
| Region | Seaports on our form |
|---|---|
| North (7) | Cam Pha, Hon Gai, Van Gia, Hai Phong, Diem Dien, Hai Thinh, Ninh Phuc |
| North Central (8) | Nghi Son, Ben Thuy, Son Duong, Gianh, Hon La, Cua Viet, Thuan An, Chan May |
| South Central (11) | Da Nang, Ky Ha, Dung Quat, Sa Ky, Quy Nhon, Vung Ro, Nha Trang, Ca Na, Ninh Chu, Lien Huong, Phu Quy |
| South (12) | Ho Chi Minh City, Soai Riep - Hiep Phuoc, Vung Tau, Ben Luc, Dong Thap, My Thoi, Giao Long, Truong Long Hoa, Nam Can, Hon Chong, Duong Dong, An Thoi |
Ships visiting Ha Long Bay usually berth at Ha Long International Cruise Port, in the Hon Gai area of Quang Ninh. Ships listed as calling at Ho Chi Minh City may dock in Vung Tau province instead of the city. In both cases your cruise line can confirm which seaport name to choose.
Cruise passengers who go ashore need an e-visa unless their nationality is visa-exempt for the stay, or the cruise line arranges entry for them. Check the requirements by nationality first. If you only change planes or ships without leaving the transit area, read our transit rules instead.
Choosing the port on the form
Choose the port where you will actually enter Vietnam, and enter there. The form asks for one port of entry, and we treat that choice as binding. Leaving is more flexible: Resolution 389/NQ-CP covers both entry and exit, so you can exit through any gate on the government list.
Some travelers report entering through a different gate since the e-visa layout changed in 2023. We have not found a government notice that allows it, so we do not recommend it. If your plans change after you order, email us at once. Details can be corrected before the application is submitted, and after the e-visa is issued a new application is the safe route. Our guide on how long each speed takes helps if you need a new one quickly.
VietnamVisa.com is a private visa agency, not a government website, and you can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25 (single entry) or US$50 (multiple entry). If you want your port, dates and passport details checked before submission, apply for your Vietnam e-visa online and pick your port from the same list shown here.
Frequently Asked Questions
We do not recommend it. The e-visa application names one port of entry, and no government notice we have found allows entry through another gate. Some travelers report doing it without trouble, but the risk sits with you at the border. If your plans change, update the port before submission or apply again.
Yes. Resolution 389/NQ-CP lists 83 border gates where e-visa holders can both enter and exit Vietnam. You can fly into Hanoi and leave by land through Lao Bao into Laos, or by sea, as long as the exit gate is on the government list. Check the opening hours of land gates.
Yes, if you will come back into Vietnam on the same e-visa. A single-entry e-visa ends when you leave Vietnam, so a trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap and back needs multiple entry. Multiple entry costs from $83 with us, government fee included.
Email info@vietnamvisa.com with the port name and your travel dates before you order. Our form covers 79 of the 83 gates on the government list as of October 2026. We will tell you how to proceed, or you can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn, which shows the full government list.
Cruise passengers who go ashore in Vietnam need an e-visa unless their nationality is visa-exempt for the visit or the cruise line arranges entry. Ask your cruise line whether it handles visas, and which seaport name to choose. If the ship leaves Vietnam and returns, choose multiple entry.
